At Wishlist, we want to give our users as many options as possible when it comes to redeeming their rewards. With that, we introduced the Upgrade feature, a way of providing additional options for reward redemption.
You can think of the original reward you received as a credit towards the reward you are now contributing towards.
An upgrade occurs when a reward's cost exceeds a user's reward or wallet amount requiring them to pay the difference out of pocket. Upgrades are displayed differently depending on which marketplace your company is connected to.
Wishlist Wallet
When selecting a reward worth more than your Wallet Balance, during the checkout process you will be prompted to pay the difference.
Wishlist Legacy
The $ next to some of your options identifies rewards that you can pay the designated amount to be able to select.
Below are common reasons why you might decide to Upgrade your experience:
-
You want to redeem your reward for a product that exceeds your reward or wallet budget.
-
You want to increase the time or number of people allotted for the desired experience.
If an upgrade is required for you to complete the booking you will be notified during the redemption process and can opt-out at that time, before payment.
Should you decide to proceed, you may pay for the upgrade using the below options:
-
Debit/Credit Card
-
Paypal
Once the upgrade payment is submitted, the booking process flows as normal.
If for some reason your experience is canceled, your upgrade amount will be refunded in full to the original payment method.
Important Note: Wishlist Rewards is a US-based company and although “upgrades” (transactions made beyond your wallet balance) will display in the currency you select, transactions will be settled in USD. This means you will see an upgrade displayed on your bank statement in USD. Foreign conversion fees may apply. Inquire with your bank about foreign transaction fees.
